Kansas city dietitian nutritionist
I’m also a Kansas City native, cooking instructor, eating disorder awareness advocate, Intuitive Eating dietitian nutritionist, self-care promoter, and mom to the cutest fur baby.
My passion for cooking & baking came from my mom, who encouraged me to try any recipe (and didn’t mind a little mess in the kitchen). Skip ahead a few years and I became a registered dietitian & discovered what really lights me up is being able to talk to people about what they eat. And more than that helping people own their bodies and feel confident about what they eat and using an Intuitive Eating approach.
My vision is to create a space both in my practice and blog that provides women and girls a safe space to learn how to trust themselves around food; to see it as a gift, not a necessary evil and to learn how to love and appreciate their bodies and themselves.
You might be a good fit to work with Ariel if:
- Eating disorder & disordered eating
- Women’s health & PCOS
- Intuitive eating
Kansas city dietitian nutritionist
My passion as a dietitian is turning food fears into food freedom by building a non-restrictive, healthy eating pattern that is sustainable for life. I have several years experience as a medical weight management and bariatric dietitian. I also have experience with binge-eating, prenatal nutrition, and IBD/ostomy nutrition.
My favorite thing to see in clients is the transformation from feeling out of control and cautious around food, to feeling in control and confident with any food situation. I enjoy helping find hunger and fullness cues again while teaching Intuitive Eating concepts – even after bariatric surgery! Our sessions will be a neutral, non-judgemental place to explore what does/doesnāt work for you.
In my free time I am walking with my huskies, playing board games with family, or baking!

Kansas city dietitian nutritionist
I am a dedicated dietitian with a unique background in both sociology and dietetics. I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in sociology, and developed a comprehensive understanding of societal influences on individuals, which later complemented my journey into the world of nutrition.
Driven by a passion for fostering healthy relationships with food, I pursued an additional degree in dietetics from the University of Central Missouri. I recognize the challenges individuals face when navigating their connection with food and it’s my mission to provide a balanced and personalized approach to nutrition. I am so fortunate to contribute to the well-being of others.
I enjoy reading (any genre!), being outdoors, spending time with my pups, attempting DIY projects, baking, thrifting/ antique shopping, and new experiences. I’m originally from California and lived in Arizona & Texas but my husband and I decided to make Kansas our home!

I am originally from Minnesota, but moved to Kansas City to pursue my dream of becoming a dietitian and earn my Masters in Nutrition from the University of Kansas. My passion for nutrition stems from a desire to help others discover joy and freedom in their relationship with food. I believe in a non-diet approach, focusing on behaviors rather than weight.
Iām dedicated to helping people of all shapes and sizes define what health means for them. Instead of rigid external food rules, I encourage listening to your body and making informed choices. It’s my mission to provide a neutral, non-judgmental and personalized approach to nutrition.
When Iām not immersed in dietitian work, youāll find me in the kitchen exploring new recipes, decorating cakes, exploring new places through travel, and tackling DIY projects.

About our kansas city nutritionist team
A Unique Nutrition Approach
If you were to do one thing now that your future self will thank you for it would be to ditch the diet culture. Not sure what this means or never heard of this? That’s because so many of us are deep in diet culture and don’t realize it.
No, you don’t have to have to try and fit into what society deems as the perfect body. You have a body and that is enough! Our approach is to help you learn how to accept food as something to enjoy and nourish your body. Learn more.
Why ‘Tasty Balance’?
Everything in moderation, and of course, that includes chocolate and wine! It seems opposite to what you would think a registered dietitian nutritionist would say but trust me. As soon as you put foods off-limits it makes it that much more desirable.
There is room in your life for all kinds of foods and what is most important is finding a balance that includes what you love and allows you to live life without feeling restricted. This belief is what lead us to want to treat eating disorders and become an Intuitive Eating dietitians.
We value diversity and inclusivity
As a business focused on cultivating inclusivity and positive well-being, The Tasty Balance affirms all people regardless of their age, weight, culture, disabilities, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, marital status, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
