The past two weeks we visited Camp WIN by @winforkc! We didn’t just talk about food — we taught girls how to fuel their bodies to lead, play, and feel their best. Our dietitian @katearagon.rd is starting us off strong with some yummy snack suggestions.

Here’s some things to look for with quick snacks this summer:
- does it have any fiber? Fiber is so important for keeping us full and gut health! Things like apples, carrots, whole grain crackers. Other favs with high fiber are @thatsit bars and @badabeansnacks!
- does it have any protein? Seems like protein is having a moment is all things snacks but it does help stabilize blood sugar and keep you fuller longer.
- how much added sugar does it have? Let’s approach this with some nuance: sugar isn’t the enemy but it’s good to be mindful of how much added sugars you are having throughout the course of the day!

😴 Struggling with toddler sleep? Low iron might be part of the puzzle — but it’s not always the whole story.

Iron supports brain development and healthy sleep. When levels are low, toddlers may have more night wakings, restlessness, or trouble falling asleep — even with a solid bedtime routine.

🩺 If you’re in the thick of poor sleep, this isn’t a magic fix, but it could be one piece worth exploring. Talk to your pediatrician about checking iron levels.

✨ Tips to naturally support iron:
🥩 Serve iron-rich foods like beef, chicken, turkey, and egg yolks
🌱 Add lentils, beans, tofu, spinach, and iron-fortified cereals
🍊 Pair with vitamin C (like oranges or bell peppers) for better absorption
🥛 Avoid milk with meals — calcium can block iron uptake

💊 Considering a supplement?
If levels are low, your pediatrician may recommend one — just know iron supplements can cause constipation. Ease it with:
🚰 Extra fluids
🥝 Fiber-rich foods
