The difference between a nutritionist and dietitian lies in the schooling, training, and certification requirements. Anyone, even someone with no formal training can call themselves a 'nutritionist' because the term is not regulated. The title Registered Dietitian requires a minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college, a 1,200-hour internship, passing a comprehensive exam, and completing ongoing education.

A credit card or a Health Savings Card is accepted and will be processed through a secure site at the time of the appointment.

It may seem counterintuitive that a DIETitian is using a non-diet approach but there are two definitions to the word diet. 1. food and drink regularly provided or consumed and 2. restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight. It is the second definition that a non-diet approach is referring to.  A non-diet approach removes that emphasis and pressure to eat for weight loss. Instead, it embraces the Health At Every Size® paradigm, intuitive eating, and mindfulness.

You may, you may not. My approach is to not make weight loss the end goal. Instead, my focus is on how you can learn to trust your body to improve your health and that doesn't always mean weight loss. It does mean getting off the diet roller-coaster and instead learning to give your body the nutrients that it needs to thrive.

You can expect to develop a relationship with a professional you can trust. This is especially important with all the unreliable nutrition information and diet culture noise. If you choose an in-person session or via telehealth, you can expect an initial assessment session- this is a time for me to get to know you and learn about what you are hoping to accomplish. How many sessions you choose to book is dependent on you but to get the most out of these services follow up sessions, a cooking class, or an accountability package is recommended.

Telehealth is a service I offer that you can utilize from the comfort of your own home! Telehealth appointments can increase flexibility and opportunities for support even if you don't live in Kansas City. At the time of booking you can let me know if you want a virtual session and I will send you an appointment invite for us to meet through my HIPPA compliant software. You can also choose to mix it up and see me in person sometimes and virtually other times!

We have two locations: Prairie Village, KS and Brentwood, MO.
